Weaver Furniture Sales is a family owned and family operated business and was started in 1989 by LeRoy and Ida Weaver. LeRoy and Ida started the furniture business after many years of working on a crop and dairy farm. Since 1989, the barn used in their farm operations was slowly converted to a retail showroom and now Weaver Furniture Sales has completely renovated the old dairy barn into a large furniture showroom. The unique showroom, the barn, offers people a quaint place in the country to relax and browse through our full line of furniture specializing in handcrafted Amish furniture.
LeRoy and Ida Weaver did not always work with Amish Furniture. Both grew up in Amish homes in Northern Indiana known as the Heart of Amish Country. Ida grew up in an Amish family in Honeyville Indiana where her father Amos owned a farm, operated a saw mill and later in life ran the Honeyville General Store. LeRoy, also grew up on an Amish farm near Shipshewana Indiana where he helped his siblings and his father David and mother Alice tend to the family farm. LeRoy and Ida still work with family today as some of the select Amish Furniture builders chosen by LeRoy and Ida are members of their family. Most of LeRoy and Ida’s nine sons and daughters are employed in some fashion with the two furniture stores (Shipshewana and Elkhart Indiana). LeRoy and Ida, still members of the Old Order Amish Church, make their livliehood helping clients fulfill their dreams with custom Amish furniture built to their clients’ specs – all in the peace and quiet of their little farm in the country near Shipshewana.
